Up, Up and Away

Lucy found the stairs..........

And she made it all the way to the top, fast.
She couldn't be more proud. But we are spending a lot of time either chasing her or gating her off.

December

I can't believe how time flies.  It amazes me.  I have been meaning to update the blog BUT it seems as if I don't get the chance to sit down and concentrate on what I am doing on here!  I guess that is why Facebook is easier for me... easy status updates, easy picture uploads. Though, it is my goal to utilize this blog more.  So here goes...

The kids love helping me bake!  Chocolate  chip cookies for Thanksgiving dessert!
Kent is a goof ball!  He loves to entertain everyone and is one of the funniest persons I know.
Sweet Lucy loves baths.  I am wondering how she's almost 6 months already?
So this is what our bed looks like most mornings... Brent leave for work early and the kids pile in... there's usually two more including me!!!!  We really need a king size bed!  REALLY!  (oh and look at Kent and Lucy's hands)
This was one of our favorite memories this year!  We were able to meet Jack Hanna at his office at the Columbus Zoo.  We have been blessed the last 3 years to hold a membership there and we finally got the opportunity to meet the Director Emeritus!  He autographed some pics for the kids and then gave the them some signed books.  He even gave Brent and me a book: Jungle Jack, My Wild Life... if you ever get a chance to read it I think you should.  I have enjoyed it at least! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!

Happy Halloween!

The kids had a ton of fun Trick or Treating. We went with our friend the Bowden's this year. Kent had as much fun as the older ones, he would run just to stay up with them... swaying tail and all!  Bennett, being his competitive self was the first at every door staying about two houses ahead.  Eve was mistaken as Batman so many times that she decided to inform everyone that she was BatGIRL before she took the candy!  And to much surprise, Jo got 3/4 the through and decide that it was enough!  Lucy, being the most amazing Super Girl ever, just watched all the kids and chewed on her fingers.
Hope you and enjoy the pictures... I think I had as much fun putting the costumes together as the kids did wearing them!

Max and his Wild Thing (mischievous monkey).

Wonder Woman, Super Girl and Bat Girl!!

Five Little Pumpkins!

Updating

It's been awhile since my last update.  We've been pretty busy around here!  Soccer season is already mid-way through!  Lucy is getting big!  Kent is getting crazier, Johanna is getting sweeter!  Eve and Bennett have both started home school!  Time is just flying by!  Here are some pictures to catch ya up, a little anyway!

At the Miami County Fair!
Soccer Game!
I turned around and Kent had climbed up in Lucy's bath... with his diaper on!!!
Tasha's getting ready for homecoming.

Lucy is enjoying her tummy time!

June's almost over...

I haven't updated much in a while... no particular reason, just enjoying the summer sun and going to the pool with the kids and then with Brent and the kids on the weekend.  The downside of this is that our weekend projects are NOT getting done and time is running out before the baby arrives!! :)
Which leads me to the fact that baby #5 is still enjoying her present home in my belly... she must feel she has enough space and I am on the opposite fence wondering how in the world my stomach could stretch any more?!?!  At the pool yesterday I was stopped several times by other moms, mostly with words of sympathy.  There was this one lady who thought my tummy was ultra funny and much it resembles a basketball (I'm thinking watermelon but it's all in the eye of the beholder. And hey, I win cause not only is it in the eye of the beholder but I am the actually holding up this heavy belly!!!)
So.... we have decided that if this little one doesn't arrive before Monday we will go have the scheduled c-section.  Five more days... Bennett is counting down a lot more than me!  He asked me this morning "How long will you be in the hospital?"  and I said "OH, I don't know 3 days, maybe 4."  And his response was this "I HOPE 4 so I can stay with Mitchell more!!!"
Moving on to the kids that have escaped my womb (or heart, cause that's were Evie came from)...
Bennett enjoys going to the pools as much as me.  This was a big surprise because of how fearful his is of the water.  But I really need to change that to WAS.  He has even started to swim underwater, without holding his nose!!!!!  And of course everything is a competition to him so he is racing to see how is the most tan... winner is HIM!
Eve is also enjoying the pool.  She loves the water and it is great therapy for her.  It's like the child she should be comes out every time she is in the water.  I love watching her there.  She also enjoys lounging pool side as if she were really 16. She even sprays herself with the tanning oil (spf 15 of course!) :)
Johanna likes the pool so-so.  She enjoys the "ocean part" the most.  She likes to crawl around and just be safe.  This is challenging because Bennett, Eve and sometimes Kent are dying to get in the taller water.
Kent is mister dare devil.  He thinks he can swim now.  He tries to jump in by himself, he even tried to count..1, 2, 3 JUMP!  It's just mumbly! :)  He's a beam of sun.  That kid is so funny I love it.
So that's the update... for now. :) Sorry if it's a bit boring but we're enjoying it!

Baby Ultrasound

So I had another ultrasound yesterday to check the baby's weight.  She weighed 5 lbs 2 oz.... or 1 lb off either way. By the looks of me I am sure she's riding on the 6 lbs side! UGH... This all means if she gains the average weight of a normal baby 1 lb a week and I go to my due date I will have a freaking 12 lb baby... but don't forget that I have GD and the surge in weight towards the end!!!!!!! AAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
OH and by the way, the only good picture we got yesterday was of her vagina!!!!! At least I know she's a girl!

I have neglected the blog but finally have a couple minutes to update!!!  I had yet another ultrasound (this makes for one each week for the last 3 wks!)  The baby girl is growing, they didn't do actual growth scan to see her weight... they are checking to make sure my fluid is at the right level.  I guess with gestational diabetes it can be too low or too high.
I haven't been able to manage the diabetes by diet so I have been put on meds... I guess I really can't control diabetes my hormones are what regulates it.  That's frustrating!
I have NST twice a week until she's born and then in two weeks I will have another ultrasound that will measure her weight!
We are still hoping for a VBAC and the doctor is doing his best to be pro-active too!
Hope you enjoy the pictures!  It's amazing the difference between the normal ultrasound and the 4-d ones!

Okay she's getting CHUNKY!
